The story is ok but that's all there is to it. | | M3Gr1ml0ck | | | | Sunday, Nov 18, 2018, 05:27:59 PM | Il canovaccio molto classico della gara tra Paperino e Gastone, qui ai suoi esordi, è vivacizzato dalla creatività immessa nei colpi di fortuna di Gastone, nonchè dalla positività di QQQ che bilancia la sfortuna di Paperino e ne supporta l'aspetto positivo (Paperino non è un totale incapace: è avventato, impulsivo, ma anche capace di imparare e di distinguersi in un'attività). Particolarmente divertente, forse perchè molto tipica di Barks, la situazione degli indigeni generosissimi coi visitatori, che si pentono di esserlo per colpa di Gastone e si rifanno sui visitatori successivi. Peccato che molti degli imitatori successivi di Barks non abbiano capito la lezione del maestro.
Un Paperone in palandrana nera, dalla caratterizzazione estremamente misantropa, ma tutt'altro che stupida nella sua logica affaristica, ci riporta agli esordi del personaggio, dandoci l'importante percezione storica di questo fumetto. La trovata finale (che non si spiega con la fortuna di Gastone) è declinata con l'immancabile umorismo di Barks.
La primissima traduzione della remota parentela di Gastone con Paperone è scalcagnata, in quanto Paperone è "cognato del fratello della madre di Gastone", ma in italiano si parla di "fratello dell'altro fratello", che fa ridere, ma non è corretto.
Arte che è semplice solo in modo apparente, elegante, dritta al punto, e come sempre impagabile nei panorami naturali e nel caratterizzare la comicità dei personaggi. Mirabili le sequenze notturne, con un sapiente uso di ombre e riflessi di ombre e sagome nere; ancora meglio se stampate senza colori.
